Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has indicated that he has held positive talks with Eden Hazard and he is confident that the Belgium international will stay put with the Blues for the campaign.
Hazard has been constantly linked with a move to Real Madrid during the summer and the speculation only intensified after the Belgian cited that it could be time to move on shortly after the World Cup.
Despite this, there has been no formal approach from the European champions and Sarri is now confident that the Belgian will remain with the west London giants for the current season at the least.
“I have spoken to him often in 10 days, but he has never said anything about [leaving]. I am sure Eden will be with us this season,” he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
Hazard only came on as a second-half substitute during the 3-0 triumph over Huddersfield Town but he nevertheless made his mark with an assist for Pedro’s and Blues’ third goal of the game.
The Belgian is expected to start the London derby against Arsenal on Saturday evening and his performance could be influential towards the club ending their recent winless run against the Gunners.
