Chelsea have officially confirmed their third signing of the summer transfer window with Kepa Arrizabalaga arriving from Athletic Bilbao. The Blues are understood to have paid a club-record £71m fee for the Spaniard and he therefore becomes the most-expensive goalkeeper in the world, surpassing the £67m record set by Alisson’s transfer to Liverpool last month.

Aside from this, the Blues have confirmed that Thibaut Courtois will be heading to Real Madrid on a permanent basis after spending four years with the first-team squad. In exchange for the Belgian, the Blues have agreed to pursue Mateo Kovacic on loan and the Croatian will most certainly improve on the quality of the Blues midfielder for the upcoming season.
Chelsea are now highly unlikely to make anymore signings before the transfer deadline but there could be a few potential exits in order to reduce the wage bill at the club. Kurt Zouma has been one linked with a possible loan move to Everton and the Frenchman may take the opportunity, considering his chances of gametime remain limited at Stamford Bridge.
