Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on pursuing the signature of Xherdan Shaqiri from Switzerland during the current transfer window. The Swiss is certain to leave Stoke City after their relegation to the Championship and he is set to be available for a cut-price fee.
According to The Sun, Mourinho appears keen on strengthening the right side of the attack during the summer and Shaqiri has been highlighted as the prime target. It is added that the 26-year-old would be available for a relatively cheap price of £12m owing to his relegation release clause, although the move could have an effect on the future of Anthony Martial.
Martial has yet to sign a new contract with United beyond the summer of 2019 and his agent has recently claimed that his agent may part ways with the Old Trafford outfit. The Frenchman has been particularly disappointed after playing second fiddle to Alexis Sanchez on the left-wing last term and he is now supposedly eyeing a fresh challenge with Juventus leading the race.
