Chelsea have completed their first summer signing with Jorginho joining them from Manchester City on a five-year contract. The Italy international has been recruited from Napoli for a reported fee of £50m with the remaining £7m to be settled in the form of performance-based add-ons.
Earlier today, the Blues confirmed the recruitment of Sarri as their next head coach and they have not taken much time thereafter to announce the signing of Jorginho, who is said to have snubbed league holders Manchester City prior to the move.
Aside from Jorginho, there could be at least two to three more additions to the first-team squad with a striker and central defender said to be among the prime targets for Sarri.
Juventus’ Daniele Rugani has been heavily tipped to join the Blues in recent weeks whilst teammate Gonzalo Higuain has similarly been linked with a reunion with his former manager.
