Liverpool to announce second summer signing, £50m plus deal on the cards

Liverpool are reportedly close to wrapping up the signing of Nabil Fekir from French giants Lyon. The attacker has been linked with the Reds since the close of the 2017/18 season and reports now claim that the Frenchman could meet Reds representatives alongside his agent Jean-Pierre Bernes to finalise the move.

According to Canal Plus’ Romain Collet-Gaudin, the 24-year-old is expected to discuss the final details of his proposed move to Anfield today and a medical could soon follow with the Reds keen on concluding the deal prior to the summer World Cup.

Liverpool have already shown their transfer ambition for the summer after agreeing on a rather surprise deal for Monaco’s Fabinho and Fekir’s move now appears on the pipeline with Klopp keen on bolstering the club’s attack further ahead of a strong Premier League challenge next term.

Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele has also been on the Liverpool radar over the past week but an agreement for Fekir may end any further interest in the former Borussia Dortmund ace. Meanwhile, the Reds are expected to announce the departure of midfielder Emre Can on a free transfer in the coming days.
