Manchester United will be without the services of five first-team players for tonight’s FA Cup quarter-final tie versus Brighton & Hove Albion. The Red Devils produced an average showing during their Champions League exit at the hands of Sevilla, and the players are likely to want to react with a strong performance.
Speaking ahead of the Brighton game, Mourinho highlighted that there aren’t any positives on the injury front ahead of the late kick-off, and the squad would remain ‘exactly the same‘ from the previous fixture.
As such, the defence will be without the likes of Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind, all of whom are recovering from respective knocks whilst Ander Herrera is out for a longer term with a hamstring injury.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the other player in the absentee list with his fitness still a concern. The Swede has participated in first-team training in recent weeks, but Mourinho has stressed that the 36-year-old won’t feature until he is mentally and physically prepared.
