Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has reportedly urged the club’s hierarchy to pursue a winter move for Chelsea’s David Luiz. The Brazil international has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge since the start of November.
Luiz, now 30, had a bust-up with Antonio Conte after he questioned the Italian’s tactics during the 3-0 Champions League loss to AS Roma. The centre-back has since managed just one appearance across all competitions, and he is currently out with a knee problem.
According to Diario Gol, Ramos feels the European champions are in need of significant strengthening and he is desperate to have a new goalkeeper, defender and striker in Los Blancos’ ranks.
It is added that the Spain international is keen to have Luiz at the Bernabeu this winter as he believes the La Liga holders are in need of further reinforcements at the heart of the backline.
Real Madrid have made slow progress to their La Liga season with regular drop in points, and they are presently eight points behind leader leaders Barcelona after 14 games into the campaign.
